time to say goodbye

Dear 2009

You gave me so much hope as you came into being. You showed me that its worth taking risks, and to rise above doubt, regret and fear. Change was not an option it was necessary. Priorties shifted, friends left behind. 2009 you had to be cruel to be kind.

You brought miracles in montreal, and heartbreak in new york. another great roadtrip with friends to the windy city, a night of champions league optimism, and great summer days spent with friends in 113 by the lake. You also brought spanish royalty, and some of the greatest footballers in the world to the little stadium in Toronto, and a dream match between Real Madrid and Toronto FC.

A dinner converstation that to a change of scenery, and also a kickstart to rejuvanate a career goal that was dying slowly. The chance to test my skills and knowledge and to know that I can hold my own elsewhere. Thank you 2009 for helping me find work in a place i want to be.

2009, on the last day together, I just want to thank you for a great 12 months. I enjoyd your company and all good and bad times we had together, a new year is arriving soon, and i promise I will take the things you've left me and make sure that things will only get better.

you take care of yourself,

thoughts on the last 10 years....

Since everyone is doing it... I figured I'll throw in my 2 cents as well :)

- everyone secretly likes Nickleback... Reason why they are the band of the decade
- 9/11 shaped just about everything to happen in the last 10 years.
- social media 0wnz all /thread.
- twitter could possibly be the best communication tool out there /thread p. 2
- we are all more smrter thanks to google and wikipedia
- we are more stupid thanks to google and wikipedia
- who needs a sense of direction... Just GPS the mofo.
- lame kungfoo and cowbow tv/movie projects will elevate you to legend status.... Ask chuck norris
- Canada can become a true soccer nation. we are light years ahead of where we were 10 yrs ago.
-david beckham is still relevant... I got nothing
-hip hop had went the way of the bling, the gangsta, back to the bling, then grew up....
- reality tv : like that relative that comes, stays for a few days..... Which turns into weeks., months, .... Yeah get the idea?
- the recession hurt, but we needed a reality check on minding our $

Anyways that's it for now... Will be posting more "thoughts on the last 10 years " as we get closer to 2010....

Happy christmas shopping folks!

where did it go?

Holy shit, So I am on billboards website looking at what's good in the music world, and saw a link to some of their top music/albums.artist of the decade. It hit me, 2009-2010 yup, this is the end/start of a new decade. Looking through some of the songs and artists and reminising on the last 10 years, and how certain songs and such reminded me of many of the good times and the bad times.

This is essentially the first decade in which I could take stock of everything in my life, look back and look ahead to the next 10 years.

When the last decade started, life was good, I was finishing up highschool, was in a great relationship, and had a decent retail part time job at the mall....

now that this decade is ending, I am working on my CGA/University degree, working for Toronto FC/Maple Leaf Sports and Entertainment and will be getting married to a great girl.

I thought life was good then, shit its good now.

I entered this decade as a kid with goals in mind, and seemingly on top of the world, and i was capable of anything, that was 2000.

2009 going into 2010, things may not have gone perfectly planned, but I think I am in a good place at the moment, and armed with experience, and many, many life lessons, I know where I want to go, and will continue to persue it.

As great as the last 10 years may have been or not had been at times, the next 10 years is just as exciting, and hopefully I'll be looking back, taking stock in 2019 on what things the last 10 years had brought.
